Why a Children's AI Incubator?

Why a Children's AI Incubator?
Incubators are for adults.
Startups. Founders. Pitch decks. Late nights and LinkedIn jargon.
So why are we using that word for children?
Because the world our children are growing up in isn’t waiting for them to grow up first.
Operation Catch Them Young
We call it #OperationCatchThemYoung.
Not because children need pressure.
But because they need direction.
Right now, children are surrounded by technology they don’t understand:
- recommendation algorithms choosing what they watch
- AI tools shaping how they search, learn, and create
- content being served to them, endlessly
This isn’t a future problem.
It’s happening now.
So the real question is:
Do we let them grow up shaped by technology…
or do we teach them how to shape it?
The Problem No One Is Saying Clearly
Children today are not lacking access.
They have:
- devices
- apps
- content
- tools
What they don’t have is understanding.
Most children are:
- consuming, not creating
- reacting, not questioning
- using tools they’ve never been taught to think about
And let’s be honest—most adults aren’t much better.
So Why an AI Incubator for Kids?
Because “just teaching them later” is no longer good enough.
A children’s AI incubator creates something different:
A structured, guided environment where children:
- learn how AI works (in simple, real terms)
- question what they see online
- understand the limits of technology
- and most importantly… create with it
- Not tutorials. Not random screen time.
Real learning. Real thinking. Real creation.
Imagine This Instead
Imagine a child in London—not just scrolling, but thinking.
Imagine little Jonathan not just watching content,
but asking:
“Why did this show up for me?”
Imagine him understanding:
- what AI models are
- how information is generated
- how to turn an idea into something real
Imagine him building:
- a simple story using AI
- a concept for a product
- even a basic business idea
Not because he’s a genius.
But because someone showed him how to think.
This Isn’t About Turning Kids Into Engineers
Let’s be clear.
We are not trying to turn 8-year-olds into developers.
This is about something more important:
- critical thinking
- digital awareness
- creative confidence
Because the children who understand how technology works
will not be intimidated by it.
They will use it.
London, Kids, and the Opportunity Right Now
In a city like London, the access is already there.
The tools exist.
The exposure is constant.
But access without guidance?
That’s how you raise passive users.
A children’s technology programme—done properly—changes that.
It creates:
- structure where there is chaos
- intention where there is distraction
- confidence where there is confusion
The Role of Parents (This Is Where It Gets Real)
You don’t have to understand everything about AI.
But your child shouldn’t grow up not understanding anything about it.
We can’t remove technology from their lives.
But we can decide:
👉 how they are introduced to it
👉 what they are taught about it
👉 whether they consume it… or create with it
What We’re Building
Our app Lecoe, is a private, referral-only learning environment for children aged 7–12.
A place where they:
- learn how technology actually works
- question what they see
- and build things they are proud of
The AI Incubator Programme is just the beginning.
Final Thought
It’s easy to say: “They’re too young.”
But the truth is: They’re already in it. The only question is…
who is guiding them through it?
